New Variety Found on BC Law Stamp

I happened upon this plate-scratch while posting new BC Law Stamps to my site. I sent it to Edward Zaluski, creator of CARIS (CAnadian Revenue Identification System). Mr. Zaluski was unfamiliar with this plate scratch variety and has assigned it the CARIS identifier BCL22D21. BCL22 is the 10c value of the Fifth Series and is the same number if using either CARIS or van Dam's numbering systems.

Further, this stamp has another known variety besides the new plate scratch. The identifier J4 is the variety for the Gap between the tablet and the design with two distinct lines. So, this particular stamp would be identified as BCL 22 D21 J4.

A similar catalogue stamp value, van Dam BCL23 with a major plate scratch is catalogued at 25x the base value with known examples in three positions.

Another variety to look for! Below, you will see the scratch running from the bottom of the "CENTS" tablet outer border and continuing diagonally through the stamp design. This stamp was in a pair with a normal BCL23, seen below the first image.
